Use Digital Jeeves free — your model, your rules
No subscription and no lock-in. Bring your own local model or your own API key and Jeeves costs nothing from us. Everyone should be able to use it, whatever their budget — here's how.
Two free ways to run it
① Your own local model — £0, and fully private
- Install LM Studio (free) and download a model from inside it — a small one runs on an ordinary laptop; larger ones like the better assistants a decent PC or GPU.
- In LM Studio, start its local server (it speaks the standard OpenAI format).
- In Jeeves: Settings → Provider → LM Studio, and set the address to
http://localhost:1234/v1(or wherever your server is). - Nothing leaves your PC, it works offline, and there's no ongoing cost. Best for privacy and a truly free setup.
② Your own API key — £0 from us, pennies to the provider
- Create an API key with Anthropic, OpenAI, or DeepSeek (DeepSeek is remarkably cheap — often a few pennies a day of normal use).
- In Jeeves: Settings, pick that provider and paste your key. It's stored encrypted on your PC.
- You pay the provider directly for what you use — we take nothing. No account with us required.
